You can practice challenging approaches from the MSFS 2020 Bush Trips in Flight Plan. Just copy the Bush Trip to a Free Flight, then delete the waypoints you don’t want. You can use the contour lines on the map to determine your runway elevation if you aren’t certain of it. You can also review the approach for any obstacles and decide what altitude you want to spawn at.
The aircraft will start in flight at the altitude and heading you specified and cruising in autopilot (if so equipped). Make sure to set your throttle position before you enter the cockpit. Then prep for landing, turn off autopilot (typically the AP button) and take control of the aircraft. You can adjust your pin position for the approach if you need a little extra time to get ready.
