The google map displayed in Flightplan is localized based on the location displayed. For example if your map is in the French Alps, the local units are metric so you will see elevations in meters. If your map is in the United States, elevations will be displayed in feet. Flightplan can’t change the units Google displays on the map, but you can use the unit of measure drop-down to display whichever units you want (next to the Altitude for the Selected Waypoint). If the map is displayed in meters, but you prefer to use feet in-game, just select “M” (meters) while you set the planned altitudes (in meters) for your flight plan. Then change the unit of measure drop-down to FT and Flightplan will convert the elevations in your flight plan to feet. If you want to round the elevations to even increments, just adjust the altitudes and save the flight plan again.
You can switch the unit of measure drop-down anytime you like and Flightplan will convert all altitudes back-and-forth between meters (M) and feet (FT). Although there is no unit of measure drop-down on the Cockpit Map, it will use the value from the main Flightplan form, so you can close Cockpit Map in-flight, switch the unit of measure, the re-open the Cockpit Map if you decide to change unit of measure in game after starting flight.
*Note: Although Flight Simulator allows you to set Imperial or Metric units, flight/plan files are always saved in feet and converted to Metric on demand. This may result in small rounding errors at certain elevations (2,600 M displayed as 2,599 M), often you can adjust the number up/down in feet to get an even number in meters if desired.
