Mt Ranier North Face

Mt Ranier (Strom Field to Pierce County Airport)

This is leg 3 of a multi-leg flight from the Columbia River Gorge through the mountains and glaciers to Anchorage Alaska.

Take off from Strom Field and follow OR 7 north to Mineral Lake.

Begin gaining altitude as you follow the Nisqually river for a short distance and start your climb up the east flank of Mt Ranier.

Reach Lake George and continue climbing.

Expedite your climb to at least 14,500' to the peak of Mt Ranier and take in the panoramic view of Mt St Helens and Mt Adams to the south.

Descend down the glaciers covering the north face of Mt Ranier to the Carbon River gorge

Follow the Carbon River west and land at Pierce County Airport.
